Dear Birth Parent,
We are here to help you through the
decision and adoption planning process.
The adoption staff here at Adoption Options Worldwide, Inc., is sympathetic
to your needs and is grateful you have allowed us into your life.
Some of us are adoptive parents and have been grateful recipients of a
miracle, the gift of life.
We were able to create a family through the love, compassion and
selflessness of someone just like you.
We will work diligently to identify resources you need
throughout this process.
You are
entitled to explore your options and receive counseling at no expense to
you.
It is your decision, from
start to finish, whether you want to meet the prospective adoptive families
and how involved you want them to be.
Minimally, you will be assured to receive letters, profiles and
picture albums from all the waiting families if you want to choose.
The amount of contact will be determined by you.
The hospital and birth time will also be discussed between you and
the family you have selected.
We will guide you through the court process.
We will review all court forms and proceedings with you in depth.
You will be totally prepared for your court experience prior to the
hearing.
Contact after the birth will be determined between you,
the agency and the prospective adoptive family.
It is up to you to decide if you want phone calls, pictures or
contact and how often.
The
ongoing contact is usually maintained with the agency as the vehicle to send
pictures and updates.
We do understand that this will probably be one of the
most difficult decisions of your life.
The enormous responsibility on your shoulders will never be forgotten
by anyone at this agency.
If
there is anything we can do to alleviate your stress and fears, we will be
at your side.
We will support you in whatever decision you make
regarding your life and that of the child.
We are committed to providing you the most respectful and comfortable
experience throughout this process.
